Senior Associate Katy Lopez to Speak at 2/5 ACBA Immigration Section Panel on H-1B Pre-Filing Strategies

Katy Lopez will speak on February 5 at the Alameda County Bar Association (ACBA) Immigration Section meeting as part of a panel on “Pre-Filing Strategies for H-1B Cap Petitions” to be held at the ACBA office in Oakland, CA.
The panel will discuss recent USCIS adjudication trends and common requests for evidence (RFEs). The panelists will discuss pre-filing strategies and ways to get RFEs approved. Other topics include the impact of unlawful presence memos on H-1B petitions, special issues that arise for start-ups and small employers, and selecting the occupational classification code.
In addition to working with clients of all sizes on H-1Bs, Ms. Lopez holds vast experience with all facets of business immigration including PERMs, L-1 petitions, EB-1 petitions, and national interest waivers. Ms. Lopez also heads the firm’s Compliance practice, encompassing I-9, E-Verify, LCA Public Access File and PERM document retention requirements
